Drugstore/Winners Beauty Haul
I have picked up some items, from Shoppers Drug Mart and Winners.. so I decided to put together this little “Drugstore Beauty Haul”.
I already posted a review on the NYX Lip Lingerie liquid lipsticks, I picked up. If you haven’t read that yet, you can find it here.
Keep reading to see what other goodies I got. =)
I absolutely love Winners ! Although, it’s not a drugstore, I decided to include the items I bought in this post since they are beauty related. These are my #WinnersFabFinds !!
I have been wanting to try “Oval” makeup brushes for a while and I loved the “Mermaid” colours of these ones, by ibeauty. This set cost $20. I haven’t used them yet, but I will do a review post on them when I do. =)
I also (finally) picked up a curling wand! My hair is naturally wavy/curly but it never seems to give me the exact look I’m wishing for! (of course) I have watched probably a million YouTube videos on different curling irons/wands, techniques, etc. I saw this one by Le Angelique for $40 and went for it!
I love the colour and I have used it a couple times so far and it works really well. I feel the size of this wand is great for the look I was going for. This set included the wand, a glove to protect my hand from the heat, and two hair clips. When I checked it out on their site, this same set usually retails for $149.95 and I got it at Winners for $40!! Definitely a #WinnersFabFind lol .. I did notice that right now on their site, this set is on sale for $69.99.. you can purchase it here.
I needed some new beauty blenders so I grabbed this 3 pack, by Nanette Lepore. The colours are so cute and remind me of Easter and spring time!
I am a huge fan of dry shampoo! Especially for when I workout before work, or just being a busy mom in general.. dry shampoo is a blessing! I have never tried any products from Batiste, but for $5 why not!? I have used it a few times now and it definitely works but doesn’t last very long. Throughout the day, my hair felt and looked a little oily. It’s definitely something I would have to re-spray throughout the day, so I wouldn’t purchase this dry shampoo again.
The next three items I picked up, I have heard about from YouTube tutorials.
The Revlon Photo Ready Insta-Fix contour stick, the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer and the Maybelline Brightening Creamy Concealer stick.
I purchased the Revlon Photo Ready Insta-Fix contour stick, in the shade Rich Ginger. I have heard from other tutorials and reviews on this product, that the shade ranges are very light.. which is true. I am more on the fair side of the spectrum and this shade is light for me. It is perfect for a very soft contour (I currently use it for my office makeup look), but you won’t get a very intense contour with this product. It does blend very nicely though, which is a plus.
Overall, I do like the product for every day but if you are looking for a deeper, intense contour, like for a weekend or night-out look, then this isn’t the product for you. I will purchase it again though, to use for more subtle looks.
I purchased the Maybelline Brightening Creamy Concealer stick in the shade Light. At first, I was not really a fan of this product. I prefer a more liquid type of concealer that I can really build and blend out. Although, this is perfect for on-the-go touch-ups! I keep this in my purse in case a red spot shows up throughout the day, you just dab on, blend and it’s totally concealed!
The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer is definitely a new favourite! It has a super soft applicator tip, that glides the product onto the skin very nicely. You only need a couple clicks at the bottom of the packaging, to have enough product reach into the applicator. I will be purchasing this again, 100%!
I really like using white liner in the water line for certain makeup looks, so I picked up the CoverGirl Katy Kat Eyeliner in White, on sale for $3. I tried using it twice but was not impressed. It was not very pigmented and did not last at all in my waterline, after applied. It may work better on the outer lid, but for the purpose I wanted it for, it was a fail.
I have seen quite a few reviews on this Maybelline Master Camo color correcting kit. I purchased it in the Light palette. I have never used any color correcting products before, so as a total newbie I found this kit was pretty straight forward, but maybe not the BEST product for color correcting.
I am going to do a more in depth product review post on this, after I play around and use it a couple more times.. so keep an eye out for that! =)
This has brought us to the end of this Beauty Haul! I really hope you guys enjoyed it… Comment below and let me know if you have used any of these products and what you thought!
