The Christmas Tag
Keeping in the Holiday spirit of my current blog posts, I have decided to do the Christmas Tag! Here it goes..
What’s your favourite Christmas movie?
I would have to say I have a solid top three but my all time favourite is Home Alone! I have literally lost count of how many times I have seen this movie, but it never gets old! Every time I watch it, I still think to myself: “How did they just leave and not realize they left their son?!” lmao Too many classic scenes and lines from this movie! My other two favourite Christmas movies are The Grinch (original, not the Jim Carrey one) and The Nightmare Before Christmas (which I love watching during Halloween and Christmas lol)
Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Living in Canada I think I can safely say every Christmas has been a white Christmas! Which I don’t mind, it’s actually the only day of the year I would want to have snow, well and Christmas eve… but if it went away right after I would be okay with that! lol
Where do you usually spend your holiday?
Many years of my childhood we lived in the same house as my grandparents and I have the best memories of waking up on Christmas morning and opening our gifts then going upstairs to see my Grandparents and having a whole other batch of stockings and presents to open! All my aunts, uncles and cousins would come over and we would all show each other what gifts we got, eat lots of food and enjoy the holiday time with family. Now that we have gotten older, myself and my man (and now Amare) wake up and do our gifts, then head out to spend the morning with my man’s family and celebrate Christmas with them, then we spend the afternoon with my side of the family.
What’s your favourite Christmas song?
OMG I have a whole Christmas playlist ranging from Mariah Carey to Whitney Houston to Faith Hill.. but my ultimate “Go To” Christmas song is Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You!”
Do you open any presents Christmas Eve?
As kids, we were allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve, and of course it was always PJs! lol This year we have decided to start a new tradition with Amare; a Christmas Eve present box. This year I have included in the box: a pair of Xmas PJs to wear that night, a Mickey Mouse Christmas movie and a Mickey Mouse Santa ornament to hang on the tree that night. (If you follow me here or on Instagram, you know my son is OBSESSED with Mickey Mouse!)
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Of course!! He’s got Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen. Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. And of course the most famous reindeer of all, Rudolph! (Yes I did sing the song in my head to name them all! lol)
What holiday traditions are you most looking forward to this year?
Since Amare is 2 now, this year he is beginning to understand things regarding Christmas, like who Santa is and he is excited to decorate the Christmas tree, so I am definitely looking forward to sharing these moments with him. Of course, I am also looking forward to spending time with family and enjoying the Holidays!
Is your tree real or fake?
Real! =) Growing up, we had a fake tree and I totally understand the appeal of a fake tree, with no mess being the big one! The past two years though, we have gotten a real tree and I can’t go back! I love the smell of a real tree and I use the pine needles in a homemade “Christmas” smelling concoction to make the whole house smell like Christmas! We actually just picked up our tree last night, so I will be doing a post soon to show you guys how we decorated it !! =)
What is your favourite holiday food/sweet treat?
I would have to say my favourite holiday sweet treat is Candy Cane Ice cream or Candy Cane Hot Chocolate!
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts better?
As a kid, obviously I was excited to receive gifts, but as I get older and especially since I have a child now, I get so much joy from giving gifts. I get more excited picking out gifts for my son, nieces/nephews, siblings, etc. than even thinking about a Wish List for myself! lol
What’s the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?
hmm honestly that’s a hard one! I have received many amazing gifts over the years, some being personalized cherished gifts and others being material items I could never afford or would buy for myself.. but I can’t really pin point the “Best” gift.
What would be your dream place to visit in the holidays?
I have always wanted to visit Paris and I think it would be a beautiful city to spend the holidays in.
Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I can gladly call myself a pro-present wrapper! Thanks to wrapping presents at the mall in grade 9, to finish some of my community hours for graduation! lmao
Most memorable holiday moment?
My most memorable holiday moment is being with family, watching Christmas movies and decorating the tree.
Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I definitely do make New Years resolutions, but I regrettably do not always stick to them. This year I have made the resolution to get back on track with my fitness journey, which I know is definitely attainable and I want to work towards opening my own business and saving up for us to buy our first home! =)
What makes the holidays special for you?
The whole holiday spirit make it special to me, whether it’s decorating the house and tree, wrapping gifts and watching Christmas movies, or spending time with family. I love the holiday season!
