Cooking with Ms Moore : Spicy Blackened Basa

Hey Luvs!

If you have been following my blog, you know I love cooking salmon but I took the plunge and tried another type of fish lately. For this recipe I used Basa fillets, and every time I make it, it’s been a hit!!

  • 2-3 basa filets

Rub Marinade –

  • 2 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Sauce –

  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 1/4 chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoom sugar
  • 2 tsp oregano

  1. Preheat oven to 390 degrees Farenheit. Meanwhile, mix all of the rub marinade ingredients in a small bowl. Place the basa filets in a baking dish and rub the marinade into both sides of the fish.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together all of the sauce ingredients. Pour over fish, coating entire filet.
  3. Place in the oven for 20-25 minutes.

I have served this dish with roasted potatoes, rice, or salad… sometimes all three ! lol If you try out the recipe, comment below and let me know what you served it with 🙂

Thx for following .xo
