Cooking with Ms Moore : Spicy Basa Tacos with Avocodo Cilantro Sauce & Mango Salsa

Hi lovelys!

I feel like I haven’t posted a recipe in a long time! That’s probably because since starting my new job, I haven’t had as much time or energy to whip up new dishes lol

During the week my man mentioned he wanted to try fish tacos, and I have always wanted to try them as well .. So tonight I did some researching and whipped up these super tasty & healthy spicy Basa tacos with manga salsa and Avocodo cilantro sauce. These were so easy to prepare and were a huge hit with my man and lil man ! lol

For the Fish tacos –

  • 3 large Basa fish filets
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/4 tsp salt and pepper
  • tortillas
  •  chopped cilantro

Mango Salsa –

  • 1 mango, cubed
  • 1/2 tomato, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • handful of cilantro, chopped
  • handful of green onion, chopped
  • pinch red pepper flakes
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Avocado Cilantro Sauce –

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • large handful of cilantro
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • pinch red pepper flakes

  1. In a small bowl, mix together cumin, paprika, garlic powder, oregano, onion powder, chili powder, chili flakes, salt and pepper.  Sprinkle spice mixture over both sides of fish fillets and rub in. Set aside for 20 mins.
  2. In another small bowl, mix together mango, tomato, red onion, cilantro, green onion and red pepper flakes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  3. In a small food processor, combine sour cream, avocado, garlic, lime juice, chili flakes, and cilantro until smooth and creamy. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Heat in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the fish for 3-5 minutes on each side, or until opaque.
  5. Cut the fish into pieces and serve with warmed/grilled tortilla. Top with mango salsa, avocado cilantro sauce, and extra cilantro (optional).

I hope you enjoy these super yummy, healthy fish tacos! Comment below & let me know if you try them! 🙂
