I recently have been asked if I still waist train. My original post about my waist training is here if you wanna check it out. Well, the answer to that question is no.
I heard about the trend of waist training but never really had a reason to buy one and try it out. Then I decided that since I couldn’t work out for 6 weeks after having my son, that this was the perfect time to use the waist trainer to start to get my body back.
I did a lot of research on different brands, but I figured that this was the type of thing that you got what you paid for. So I bought “The Works” waist trainer by Pre Madonna (@PreMaddona87). I started waist training 4 weeks after having my son, and I wore it almost every day, for almost 3 weeks and then i couldn’t wear it anymore because it was too big.
It helped my posture (which was needed due to breastfeeding), cinched my waist and tightened and flattened my stomach. I didn’t get any stretch marks till the end of my pregnancy, just before labour, but the ones I had almost vanished thanks to cocoa butter and my waist trainer! It tightened the skin on my stomach so it smoothed out the stretch marks and helped flatten my stomach again.
I know there are tons of sources out there that explain how bad waist training is, and I think this is right if you go to the extreme with it! I loved my waist trainer because it helped flatten and tighten my tummy post baby, but I wouldn’t use it as a long term routine. When I started the Fit Girls Guide 28 Day Challenge I saw how easy it was to lose weight and tone up the healthy way, which is also more effective for long term health and happiness!
So although I do not waist train anymore, it does have some benefits and perks if you don’t go over board with it! To each his own.
Have you waist trained? I would love to know your thoughts and opinions on this trend!
