What is Tidal?
If your like me, you probably got up this morning and checked through all your social media platforms for the latest updates.. And if you did you probably saw a lot about the new app “Tidal”, which was launched yesterday.
I saw a bunch of celeb tweets and pictures of many different artists, from different genres, all coming together to support this re launch of the program.
My first question .. “What the f*ck is Tidal?!”
Tidal was first launched in October of 2014, but was bought by Jay Z in January 2015 for $56 million.
Tidal is a music streaming service, where you pay a monthly membership fee and are given access to a whole database of music, that can be streamed to your phone, tablet, and laptop.
Tidal is owned by the artists who stream their music through it. Some of these high profile artists are Jay Z, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Nicki Minaj, Usher, Madonna, Chris Martin, Calvin Harris & Deadmau5.
It has been compared to the music streaming service Spotify. Unlike Spotify, there is no free service. Users will have to pay $9.99/month for standard sound quality, and $19.99/month for Lossless High Fidelity sound quality. Although you have to pay for the service, expect to hear a lot of exclusive music from the artists involved!
Are you going to be downloading Tidal?! If you already have, what do you think of the service and quality ?!
